I just transferred to another division here. I interviewed this morning, and i'm going to be on TDY in Sealy, TX next week. I believe Sealy is just west of Houston. Anyone from the board live down there? I don't know how busy i'll be, but i may have some time to get together for a beer or something. I'm just starting a new job, and it looks like this one might involve actual work for a change, and if i'm lucky, i might even get to think!

Temporary Duty or some crap like that. The military is full of acronyms. It means i'm going to be working somewhere else next week, but only temporarily. I've never been to Texas (yet) but i get the feeling that there will be a lot of traveling to that particular destination in my new position.

BTW Stanley, i think your signature is too big. Might want to check it against the ROC.

I'm 180 miles from Houston. And, as you may know, San Antonio is the tourist destination of Texas. If you want to come up this way, you have a meal waiting.

Yup, we are around... Sealy is about 200 miles north of me I think. We have 4 tracks within 100 miles of here. Tommy and Tiff run weekly at least. I think they have 7 races this month. I don't get out as much anymore, but I'm on the north side, so I am the closest. Careful out there in Sealy, they are VERY heavy on the radar and it can catch our stealthy cars...

Not Sealy!
You have been in the air conditioning TOO LONG.

Sealy is where our monthly Car Club Bash is held.
Sealy is 50 miles west of Houston.

We will be in sealy
This weekend, friday and saturday the 5th and 6th.
Next weekend we'll be out there on Friday night and sunday 12th & 14th
We'll be racing all over the houston area all during the month of March.

...there's NOT too much happening in Sealy, other than a DRAGSTIP and a Stewart and Stevenson truck factory.
My guess is your going to the "truck plant", they do alot of military vehicles.
we see some really strange "covered" trailers going in and out of there.

What is your scope of operations in Sealy if you dont mind me asking.

Other than what I mentioned above.. they USED to have a mattress factory "Sealy Posturpedic Mattressesssssssesseseess"

Either you going drag racing, truck building or your getting a LARGE order of Mattressesssseeessss for the Military?

Yea, the Stewart and Stevenson plant in Sealy makes the "Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles" or FMTV for the Army. Basically the new generation 2.5 and 5 ton trucks. I just transferred to the FMTV project management office, and a few people were going down there this week, so they brought me along.

I flew back this morning, but i got both your phone numbers. I'll give you a call if i'm back down there, which i probably will be in a few months or so.
