The Kid's Sword

RE: The Kid's Sword

ROFL - I had to have hubby explain the John Belushi comment to him - guess we never had him watch the old SNL skits. :D

He is reading this even if not posting.

I'm not sure if he saw the History Channel program - but usually he does try to catch stuff like that. Where he finds the time? I don't know - I think it's one more scam to convince me he doesn't have time to get a part-time job. No, he's got a lot of patience for big projects -- he spent I believe months working on his chainmail, and the sword has been an ongoing project for awhile.

Oh, and no heads will be chopped off, at least while I'm around. Besides Mark, don't you remember the goose incident at Lake Arlington?

Here is a long thread aobut making of one of these and what goes into it. I wonder if your son looked here...

In this thread there are some who post that a real sword made by a reputed swordmaker can fetch thousands of dollars. Polishing alone is worth $1000s...

I polish my sword all the time, I never knew it could be worth money, heck I bet JD would be millionaire, he polish his 24/7. :+

Samuri (Fill in the blank) was a classic on Saturday Night Live. Where were you Sharon when of all us 40+ year olds were stopping what we were doing on Saturday Night and watching the original SNL? LOL.

I remember it Scott, that and the bass-o-matic. It's just Mike remembers that stuff in so much more detail than I do. Is that a guy thing?

RE: The Society for Creative Anachronism

It must be a guy thing Sharon,
All of my girlfriends (and wife) hated the fact that I had to be home by 11:30 to watch SNL.
They hated the show too.
This was before we all had VCRs.
Oh , the good old days.

Boy, that brings back memoires. I mean everything (think about all the things you were doing as a teenager then) stopped at 11:30 pm EST to watch this. Definately a guy thing.
