I got robbed! (profanities inside)

Man this #### sucks!!! On thursday.... i noticed that someone had pried on my patio door. I called the cops only to have em come out and file a report that there was an attempted break in since nothing got stolen or so i thought. Just in case i decided to relocate some emergency cash that i had lying around today in case next time they were actually going to break in. And guess what... IT was STOLEN all $920 of it!!! SO were 3 SETS OF CAR KEYS! And that's it!!! That's all these dirty (edit) took, and they made it look like nothing happened. Nothing was out of place the envelope from the cash is still around, they didn't take my laptop. I'm scarred for my cars now... not sure what i should do. Keys that were taken were from my car, the crown vic, and the mercury cougar... i don't feel save in this (edit) town now. And i'm even in a gated community... sorry about the language... i've haven't been this angry for a while.

Sorry to her that Max, you will need to change you locks on all the cars and that really sucks.....and yes Hayward does suck...

That really sucks man. It's gotta be someone that you know, don't you think? How would they know where your $$$ stash was? I hope they catch whoever did it.

My emergency cash is in a place only I know...impossible to find. Maybe next time you should put yours in a very tough place to find. My dad used to keep his emergency cash in one corner of a drop down ceiling. My bud used to keep his cash behind a light fixture. You actually had to unscrew the light fixture and drop the light down, and there was the cash, in the hole in the ceiling. Do something like that...something no one would ever think of. And the cars? The can change the door locks...perhaps tell your insurance company that the keys are stolen, and they may fit new locks so they don't have to pay for a couple of stolen cars. Sounds like someone you knew, or someone you knew opened up their big yapper...

Look no further than your friends, or a past friend for a suspect. And change your locks on your cars right now. Dont wait or you are going to be angry at yourself. Your cars will be stolen or burglarized.

I agree qith Adam - it had to be someone who had an idea you had that cash around or some other reason to specifically target your place. At the very least it had to be someone who noticed your cars and could scope out where you live.

It may be cheaper to have a ignition cutout installed then to change the locks.
I am taking about a hidden button you push while starting the car.

Call your insurance company and lower the comprehensive deductible on all your cars to zero.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yea it was my bad for keeping the money inside my desk. Now i know better. Let the cops know, but according to them they are "very busy". So eh... I'll buy some anti theft "clubs" or something similar as a quick fix.

Man, theres nothing I hate most then someone robbing me out of my hard earned cash. Really sorry to hear about it. Good luck.

It's too bad you live in California, shooting someone in California is almost never justified, even if they are robbing you. I also think you should put an ignition cutoff on your cars. How about homeowners insurance? Will they cover the cash?? Also, go to a city councilman to put the squeeze on the donut-munchers(no offense to police officers, I'm related to a few). Good luck. I'd offer you one of my shotguns for a few months, but I'm in Hawaii.

I have been burglarized a couple of times here in New York City. It is a horrible feeling. I sympathize with you. It is amazing how they hone in on where the valuables are. Even though we think we have a special place for our valuables, it is easy for burglars to find.
