markviii org site .. :(

RE: markviii org site .. :(

Dave summed it up very well. But it is humorous that the 2 that decided to venture off on their own are the "bad guys". No, I'm not defending them...it just "appears" that way to the un-knowing.

Anyway, looks like the point has been made.

Yes the point has been made. No need to stir things back up.

Craig,

On a side note. They are not the bad guys, but when claims to own the clubs site and makes certain demands and another leaves and purposely registers a domain name with the club name doesn't that tell you something???????????

Craig pm me if you want to talk more about this. no need to do it on here.

[div class="dcquote"][strong]Quote[/strong]For those of us (me ::roll:: ) who are out of the loop when it comes to the issues of the past, what do you mean by 'LVC stole the LOD name'? While I'm on the subject, I sure would like a 'cliff notes' history lesson as to what happened between 'calvin's' site and this one and how LVC fits in to all of it. Not on here but if someone could e-mail me or PM, I'd really like to understand better. If it's none of my business, just tell me and I'll drop it! Thanks,Steve[/div]Joey owns www dot lincolnsofdistinction dot com. I'm not linking it because that just increases his ranking.Cliff notes:Calvin was an LOD member back in the day, and this club was on a tiny board that i think is still around as the schroedingers cat message board. The club grew, and Calvin kindly registered www.mark viii.org in the clubs name, and set up the site. At some point, a couple years ago, Calvin decided that it should be his and his alone, changed all the rules, stopped the BOD from having any say over the message board, and ended up deactivating many LOD officers' accounts. So this board got started up. Last year, there was a lot of bickering over our election, and some other crap (that's just what it was, BS) and Joey got pissed off and left to form lincoln vs cadillacs. The ensuing falling-out led to much animosity.
[/div]

That sums it up very well.

What are you talking about the two guys that ventured off on their own? The club was locked out on its original site by the guy trusted to hold the keys. Hijacking a site is not venturing off on your own. If you were not around from the start perhaps you should refrain from making comments.

Schroedinger's Cat is not a tiny message board! One famous person - I forget his name - stated it was more important in the development of the Internet than Yahoo, Google and eBay combined.

Schroedinger's Cat message board is still alive and well at http://members.boardhost.com/markviii/ . Please make a post.

My thanks to everybody for the info. I'm just glad to be here! The past, is just that.

My take: it's like a bitter divorce. I've seen "good" people do some ugly things during break-ups. And everyone is usually guilty.

Didn't they just pass a law in Wisconsin allowing unrestricted hunting of Schroedinger's Cats? }(

Yes, but the hunters are having a tough time determining if they actually shot any of them.
