Any new car under 100k

Due to some bizarre and sickening circumstances my friend has a chance to get any new car under $100k for the $200 registration fee. A couple things to keep in mind is that he's 19 and works $14 an hour at a record store. Personally my vote is on the c6, because between the two of us we wouldnt have the means or the money to fix the transmission on something like the '05 M5, but on the other hand he could just sell it at that point and buy something more realistic.

Cars come with a warranty, why are you worried about fixing it? Get a car for 99k, sell it, keep some cash and get something more reasonable.

Haha actually it's his present girlfriend who's doing the buying. Confirmed by her and her ex-bf that now drives a 545i thanks to her...
She's got 30mil to throw around apparently, but i think it would be ungracious of him to get a 99k car and turn around for resale.

Some other possibilities we came up with were (given sufficient warrenty) mercedes s430 or cadillac STS on the low end.

One word...VIPER. Screw "value", and anything remotely related to "reliable"...it sounds like a freebie, so why not go for the ultimate toy.

either that, or I'll sell him my 94 for a discounted price of $38,945 which was the price it sold for in 1994, BEFORE i made it better than stock!

Yeah it makes me wonder if mechanical engineering is the right subject to major in.
Tomorow we'll be calling insurance companies but i doubt we will find one that will handle a 19yo/m with a viper. It's looking like it will end up a mercedes because she thinks the STS looks too clunky.

I don't know what to think of this yet, i definately feel jealous but it seems wrong to just buy people cars. :eek:

Check out the Audi A8, the V12 is out of the price range, but the L 4.2 is not.

I'd get a Lotus Elise or Noble M12, but both of those are too extreme for most people.

order a new 06 shelby GT 500 pay for it in advance so if they break up he'll still get a niiiiice car

id go for the an 05 audi s4 only becaus the rs6 hasnt made its way over yet. or even the a8. i sat in one today when i was testing out an a4 for my lady and it reeeeeeally didnt want to get out of that car.
