Well, my friends have done it again. I'm supposed to send the Mark up against a LT1 TransAm tomorrow. I've allready admitted that I'll get spanked if we go from a dig; but I'm wondering... just maybe, would I have a chance from a roll... if I took it from one of my shift points.

Anyways, I'll take the loss. We agreed on one run from the line, and one from a roll. I'm hoping I can take the one from a roll... but I don't have my hopes up. It'd be nice to come out of it 1 for 2, but I'm guessing I'll get beat both times.

BTW, its a auto LT1 T/A with a girl driver.

From a roll, go from about 30, and make sure you're already in first. I raced my friend's '98 Z28 repeatedly at the strip, and he took me off the line every time. But by about half-track, he wasn't pulling any more, and i was just barely starting to come back by the end, but he still had enough of a lead to win. He had a 6 speed though.

Man I was just next to a 5.0 Mustang and it seemed he had some exhaust work done, but there was 2 much traffic. I wanted to go soooooo bad, always a next time. Always cheap mustangs roaming these streets. You have to be careful tho, we have many GTP's with after market Superchargers and those ferocious Camaro SS's. Just seen one go down the street. He revved it and echoed for blocks. Damn thing's can be intiminating.

Well here where the results from yesterday.

We went from a stop, and I had the jump on her. (Fair start, but I still got the jump) and I pulled about a car on her, and it stayed that way all the way up to 80 where we shut down.

Went from a 75 mph roll, and I was all over it. I started right behind her and by the time 90 came up I had moved over to the lane right of her. By 110 I had pulled about a car on her, and then I shut it down.


Both of us where at a full tank of gas. I had one other person in my car and she had 2 others. I think we might hook the Gtech up to both of our cars today and compare.

SS aint that good, Me and my friend raced from a 15 mph roll i stayed even with his bumper then started catching up slowly around 80. But he sold it for a new GTP COMP G. he use to brag about it till i gave him a ride in my car.

well I drove her car a fairly good amount last night. She has a 4 hour drive later today, so she didn't want to drive. Her car felt really quick 0 - 60, don't know how the Mark managed to hold its own down there. But I was very dissapointed with it running on the highway. Just didn't have the same performance as the Mark from a 75mph roll. It handles just slightly better than a Mark.

I still love the car though. It'd be a great partner for the Mark to have. Even though its a metallic purlple, I don't mind driving it at all.

You stayed even with a Camaro SS?? I hope your not talking about the newer models (dunno if there are any old ones), because those are low 13sec cars.

Im gonna go with the "Good driver fast car vs. bad driver faster car" theorem. I bet if drivers switched cars the SS would win.

I think I might be in the market for a LT1 Firehawk.... similar to Sandy's. But I hate red. LS1 would be nice, but the car is going to be sitting outside under a car cover, and I don't want to spend that much on it. So a nice LT1 Firehawk would be a great pick for me. :)

The search begins. I have 2 parking spots down at Cape, and only 1 of them filled right now.

What kind of driver would turn an SS into a 15+ Sec car?

I say we hunt him down, take his ride and shoot him.

Newer one, from a roll at 15 mph I was at his back bumper, So that is about a .6-.8 lead over me so figure 14.8 to his maybe 13.9 oh grand its only somting you would try in a first gen. Plus I didnt say I won I lost, I would probly never win againts an SS camaro, but they ain't ferocious
