This is what I get when I click on the first one.....

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7 bytes) in /hsphere/local/home/loduser/mark8.org/vbulletin/includes/functions_threadedmode.php on line 23

I don't know, but humor me and switch your "display mode" and see what happens. The way I read that error code is you are viewing threads in "threaded mode"? I tend to prefer "linear mode". I have never gotten such an error. I suppose it could be merely coincidence.

I was in linear, changed to Hybrid, no difference. Going back. Hummmmm, when I went back to Linear, I could 'see' the thread, but in the opposite way I like to look at it. I like to see 1st post first, newest last....Let's see what happens when I go to that way.

OK, when I go to Hybrid, I get the fatal error. Tell me why?

I can't tell you why, but I too get the same error if I try to view that thread in the hybrid or threaded display mode.

You can change the way the posts are sorted at the bottom of the forum listing by selecting descending or ascending. You can also alter the default display in your user control panel.

When viewing a thread, you will be able to view the thread from a choice of four modes.

  1. Linear Mode (Oldest First) - In this mode, posts are displayed chronologically from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously.
  2. Linear Mode (Newest First) - This is the same as the above mode, except that posts are ordered in an opposite way (newest first).
  3. Threaded Mode - In this mode, a tree is shown along with every post. This tree allows you to see the relationship each post has to others, in terms of who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time.
  4. Hybrid Mode - This mode is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes. The post tree is displayed like in the threaded mode, but multiple posts are displayed simultaneously like in the linear modes.

OK...after trying all the different ways to display, I finally got it the way I want it.....I THINK! Too many choices. On the Ford-Trucks.com forum, they have it in stone pretty much....no choice, but they have thousands of posters and don't want it any other way. In fact, they have so many posters / members that they are looking for new software. So many posting, it's slower than molasses in January. Takes a long time to change from forum to forum and they have Mods for EACH FORUM! Oh to have problems like that, eh?

I hit and missed on a couple different Ford truck forums back when I had the PowerStroke. Actually it became too demanding, miss a day or week and you were hopelessly behind.

I do visit the NHTOC forums now on occasion.

I'd NEVER try to 'catch up' on the Ford Truck site. I kinda watch the 6.0 and Super Duty forums pretty close plus look at what's interesting on the Trailer's/5th Wheels. And belong to the Maryland Chapter.

LOTS of intresting info for working on your own vehicle. But nothing as close/personal as we have here.

...and we're gabbin' in the wrong forum now!!! OOPS
