I don't know if this made the news in your area, but this is about 15 miles from my house. I can't believe no one died. The governator announced a state of emmergency, this is a very serious connecting point for a million or so people. I am really glad my commute goes the other way...

This is going to cause MAJOR issues out here for probably the next month. Due to the fact that 4 Major freeways merge at this single point.

That happen in Houston Texas last Friday.

The crash happened just after midnight on the southbound U.S. 59 ramp to Interstate 10 eastbound. Investigators said the rig crashed after apparently taking the ramp too fast.

The driver's identity was not been released.

Houston police Officer Lloyd Morrison said the force of the blast lifted the rear of his car, making him suspect at first that it had been struck from behind. The flames climbed more than 100 feet into the sky, he said.

Crews from the Texas Department of Transportation were inspecting the ramps for permanent structural damage Friday. Meanwhile, the ramp on which the blast happened was closed for the day, as well as the eastbound Interstate 10 eastbound ramp onto U.S. 59 northbound.

Whoa that is really wierd that two exactly the same events happened 2000 miles apart. I believe the cops were saying that this guy was driving too fast as well. Late at night here as well... very odd...
