WFC Roll Call

Well... when is Carlisle?

But back to WFC... the online reg is over, and I can't bring the Saxmobile IV (the red rocket), it's developed some crazy drive shaft vibration that I haven't had any time to have it fixed. So that leaves the Saxmobile V (the stealth bomber), which is not so much a Ford product...

Now I would love to park with the rest of you at the show field despite my red Lincoln actually being a black Cadillac. Anyone think this will in some way be possible? The website mentions some sort of visual inspection of show vehicles... should I tape Stars front and back over the Wreath and Crests?

It would be a shame if I had to park super far away, if for no other reason then the bomber holds 'a lot' of 'stuff'... and plus I'm lazy and avoid walking any great distance whenever possible (that is why we have cars right?)...
 
Hmmm, I don't think parking a Caddy by us will work. However, you may be able to drop stuff off and then move the car, or we'll figure out something in terms of carpooling from the hotel to the show area. Or something. :)
 
Joe, if it's the driveshaft, drive 'through' it. If it vibrates at 80ish, chances are you can cruise at 90. :D

You may just need a wheel balance/alignment? Worth a try. :wink:
 
The problem is that you start to get the 'bad vibes' at around 40, by 55 the car feels like it's trying to tear itself apart, at 70 or above it's smoothER, but the noise is ridiculously loud...

I know how hard you are on wheels... LOL...

I'd get the wheels balanced/rotated and a 4 wheel alignment. If it doesn't fix it, it needed it anyways.

The weather looks great. I'm looking at the low's because I'll be in my tent.:)

I got my new tires yesterday, and I tightened up my strut rod bushings too, and so far, it looks like I don't need an alignment like I thought.

I think I'm having some air ride compressor problems now but, If I have to, I'll take the compressor out of my red Mark for the trip.:D
 
Pony, you always tease me with the white car.

If you can convince hubby, I wouldn't mind seeing my car running down the track..... she's in no shape to be getting any awards at show anyway.

I know she's not all that fast, but she always was consistent for me.

Anyway, it's looking closer to us having all three of us going, but still as far as I know only one car, but I can work on that.
 
Just so you guys aren't stressing out, I'll let you know now, I don't plan to go since I've just started my job and it'd take a 4-5 day weekend (all unpaid) to get to go. I'm looking into Carlisle instead.
 
Isaac, I'm stressed now. I want to see you! OK, fine, I guess I'll let it slide this time, but just know it won't be the same without you.
 
So who's going to be there Thursday??

Mrs. Driller and I hope to leave here sometime Wednesday, drive close to Indy to spend the night and be there early Thursday morning so I can get some T&T in.

I plan to do the same as last year and park at the AutoShow Friday and then race Saturday and Sunday until whenever in the bracket eliminations.

We'll be in Thursday night, but I don't know when now.

Let me know if you want cell phone numbers, and Hubby says he has a Nextel so if anyone has that they can 2-way???? I have no idea what he means, and actually I only 1/2 listened to him.

Remember to bring lawn chairs if you have them, sunscreen, coolers or whatever. If you're staying at the hotel, bring your own shampoo and stuff. Also, bring cash - at prior WFC's, the entry fee had to be paid in cash.

I have packed up a ton of plastic cups, so that's taken care of and we'll try to bring some more drinks but the car's gonna get pretty full with all three of us. We can always shop down there. I'm planning on bringing that picnic table again.

Well, we'll have to see about that. I have to do my interior and engine detail tomorrow after work . . . don't know how long that will take!
