I don't think any of it matters now anyway. Someone else offered him 200 above asking and I'm not getting into a bidding war. I was going to get it tonight, cash in hand.

As for the clutch, they had a re-call on that and his got replaced at 20k.

Oh well, let's see if I can get the Mounty sold and then see what happens.

With gas prices and me driving 20 miles ea. way to work I'd really like a 30+mpg car that's still a lot of fun to drive. (don't worry, I promise it won't be a chevy) (I've never seen a good line using the chevy letters. anyone?)
 
I know that you are not getting it now, but just could not sit this out after I read the thread. I was one that traded a 1994 Mark VIII in on a 2004 Focus SVT, and let me tell you I got better gas mileage on the Mark VIII. The Focus is a good car but for me I just felt so cramped as I am a larger guy. I traded in the Focus last August on a 2003 Crown Victoria LX since I could not find a Mark VIII that was in good shape. I am now getting about the same gas mileage and love all the comfort of a larger automobile again. Just my experiance on the same trade.
 
Comparing a MarkVIII to a Focus is like comparing a hot woman to a mean ugly one.

Ask yourself these questions

What would my buddies think if they saw me with a hot chick
What would my buddies think if they saw me with a mean ugly chick
What would my buddies think if they saw me riding,,,,,,,,,,,,
What would my buddies think if the saw me chewing my arm off to get away from,,
Now as a service tech let me say this ,compare recalls.
But in all fairness to Ford,the Focus is a economy car,not a luxury car,but in ten years the Lincoln would still be worth something.
 
Sorry, I don't think the 2 are comparable in any way. They are 2 completely different cars. One is luxury and the other set up for autox.

And in my opinion they both look good.
And it depends on who your buddies are too. Some like lincolns, some like pocket rockets. To each his own. I happen to like both.
 
For sure....we're just hounding you because you're stepping down into a Focus, but atleast you're getting the SVT model, haah.
 
Not getting that either now. Someone else gave him a better offer. But I'm still searching for 30+ mpg and a lot of fun to drive. I'll probably have to try and sell my Mountaineer first.

So why do I keep checking back?
 
Yea you guys are a bit rough on the guy. If he wants a focus so be it, no need to get all roudy and tell him the car is a POS. SVT focus is a bargain compared to a Civic SI while returning even better performance. Also they handle quite well.
 
Haha...go get a Scion TC...and get the supercharged model. Sporty, good MPH and another stupid FWD car. :lol3:

Atleast get something RWD and we'll go a bit easier on you. :D
