Carlisle 2007 Review

I just returned home after a wonderful weekend at the Carlisle 2007 All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA.

The weather was appropriate for Carlisle, hot and muggy Friday and Saturday, but mild and a sprinkle of rain on Sunday. The LOD tent was a welcome relief from the sun and provided a place for all to congregate and socialize.

Thanks to all who attended this annual pilgrimage for Ford lovers. A special thanks to Rene for setting up the banquet and a special thanks to Leo for arranging the trophies for the event.

I hope everyone had a pleasant and safe trip home.
 
Rose and I had a great time! It was fun spending some time with LOD members at the show.

Damn, I missed meeting the "real" Huggybear, though! :rolleyes:
($20 for a photo???!!!!)

Already looking forward to next year!
 
I had a great time as usual... except for the 8+ hour drive home that should have been no more than four! Between the interstate being closed for 10 miles in PA and the NY traffic I'm about ready to sleep for 16 hours!
 
I'm working on some pics. I'll try to get some posted tonight.

Yours truly took 1st and second place in the Modified Mark VIII category. I cheated and brought both Mark VIIIs. ;)

Rene and Leo took awards in the stock class.
 
We got home safely, with our usual 9-1/2 hour trip. Lots of rain off and on the whole way! We didn't care then, because the show weather was rain-free this year at Carlisle.

I have some pics too, and will post them asap. We had a bit of a computer meltdown a couple weeks ago, and I'm still trying to relocate all of my programs that used to be on here for photos . . .

We had such a great time, and it seems like we have more fun every year. I only wish more could have attended. It sounds like everyone made it home ok, and I'm glad to hear that. I miss you guys already!
 
It was great seeing everyone again and meeting some new people too. The weather was perfect. No wet tent this time.:)

On my way home, I saw 2 beautiful Mark VII's and a beautiful Mark VIII driving in a line. They were part of the Power Tour. I followed them for about a half hour then followed them into the rest area. I'll post some photos as soon as I get them downloaded.

I may have been the only one to attend Carlisle and the Power Tour at the same time.:)

Maybe not.
I think that Jerry "2ManyMarks" of NC, was at Carlisle Friday and left that evening to catch up to the long haulers of the 2007 Power Tour. I don't see Jerry in any of the Saturday pictures.

Yeah, I know that now. JP has joined the tour also.

I wish either Carlisle or the Power Tour could change the dates of their event. That way, both events could get more attendees.:)

I can agee with that. Trying to do Carlisle and take in some of the Power Tour was a struggle, but well worth it. ;)
