First win of 2007..*whew*

6 months into the year and so far "no wins". WTH???

I made several "semis" during this 6 months, but alas.... no trophy for grandmas car YET.

With several semi final appearances I have managed to stay 4th place in 2007 Street Stock points.

Friday night 06-01-07 that all changed.

Got my first win after the points leader TRIED to nail me to the tree with a .0006 RT in the 1/4 finals.

I cut a .045 light and was able to get past him and dive the brakes before the finish line! WIN LIGHT LINCOLN LANE!!!

In the semi finals my opponent ran .001 off his dial in.. and LOST!!
"WIN LIGHT LINCOLN LANE!".

Final round was set...

I cut a .030 light to my opponents .070 light, and again.. I got out front..and mashed the brakes and took the win!

FIRST WIN of 2007!!
WOOT!

But..even with the 52 points scored.. I'm still in 4th place!
Good thing is.. I'm only 1 point from catching the 4th place guy..
so.. all is not lost.

Bad thing is... I have around 150 points, and the first place guy has over 300 points, due to me only making 1 race a month.. instead of racing EVERY WEEK.

So.. I'm not in the running for the 2007 championship, but after winning 2004, 2005 and 2006 I figured I'd give "the other guys a chance at it".
HAHA

Gonna keep it up, making 1 maybe 2 races a month and see where I wind up in points, I'm happy in the top 5!

First 2007 win!!!!!!

The three drivers above you on the points list weren't there friday.
What round did you lose?

I cant remember when you went out, because I was kinda "preoccupied" with my own race.

SECOND PLACE!

HAHA

Made it to the final round and lost, but.. (Shruggs) NO BETTER ROUND TO LOSE THAN THE FINAL.

last week, tripped and fell into 3rd.
this week.. another slide SAFE INTO SECOND!

I couldn't hit the tree with a BAT friday night and still manage to drive my way into the finals!

There ARE alot of heavy hitters in the points list that are below the top 10.
If they ever get pointed in the right direction, they may be a "force to be reckoned with".

Had Glen showed up.. and even if he had lost round 1, he would have moved into 5th place!

Alot of these people are seeing the points race "runaway" and many aren't showing up every week.

Lots of ground to be made up.. just by showing up!!!
