So, was it worth $100.00???

He was lucky to have friends whose kids couldn't afford to have the suspension worked on, they left the car at their house for over a year, and the parents just wanted it out of the way! so all he had to pay was 100 bucks and then bring the registration current and he and his dad replaced the airsuspension with regular shocks and coils so over all he has around 700 invested in this, which he has paid for mostly himself. Now after seeing some of your Mark VIII"s he thinking of fixing it up, he was considering selling it! It is in nice condition overall, needs paint and wheels and figure out why the check engine light keeps coming on and off and on again!
i think it's a real nice 1st car! and I didn't have to buy it!!!:D

Nate....thanks so much for posting these, I'm glad you went the extra mile :D First off....time for a hair cut, haha.:love-it:

Second, that car is definitally worth 100 bucks, and still worth what you've put back into it! Find another luxury car that has great interior and a V8 for under a grand and compare, haha.

With some minor "mods" you can get some better gas mileage and better performance from your car, but we won't recommend any of that until you get that CE light to stop coming on, and get it to start normal!

These cars are very easy to work on, and once you work the bugs out, you'll have a cherry on your hands! Keep up the good work, and congrats on paying for most of it yourself....I bet mom's is happy, haha. I know my dad loves the fact that I'm a mechanic...I've saved our family thousands.

Little word of advise, to both you and your family. If you need anything, just ask, you'll be getting all sorts of FREE information from people that live/breathe Mark Viii's and we'll save you guys time and money figuring your car out to the best of our knowledge. We have a lot of people coming on and asking what they did wrong AFTER they screw something up, so if you're unsure, just ask. :rolleyes-green:

J- thanks for the kind words, we will be asking on here before performing any serious repairs. These forums are great for getting help to persons who need it! We belong to FJcruiserforums.com and get all kinds of help for our fj. Thats why i thought to do a search for the m8! and it worked! Maybe he'll take the advice for a haircut too!!! lol!!!;):lol3: he'll be on here this afternoon or tonight i'm sure. :D

Ok,so where did I screw up?I mean with my ex-wife that is.I kept her broom polished,I shaved the hair on her back and used a weedwhip on her nose hairs,I kept her fangs sharp,I even washed her caldron whenever she asked. So,why did she leave me for a frog? And yes,I beat the hell out of the frog,,,,because he brought her back!

I don't know how I missed this one..but, that looks a lot like my green Mark when I bought it (except for the interior color). I thought my wheels were painted black, but they cleaned up very good.

And I paid 26 times what you paid.:(

Yes, you did very good indeed!

See Nate....you car could be just like Bills :D

Bill...post a big pic so he has something to look forward too!

welcome to the under $500 club, I too paid $200 for my 97 LSC and it was virtually mint

OK Jesse, here's one with my cleaned up snowflakes that I took last year. I'll see if I can find my "before photo" of my snowflakes.:)
