Bought some 5x4.25 to 5x4.5" spacers awhile back so I could put Mustang wheels on my car and everybody basically said it would not work cause they would stick out too far. Everyone was right about the pre-05 Mustang wheels but these '05 up will work. Anyway I put a set of chrome bullits on my '98 with the Mark VIII bolt pattern and had these spacers in the garage. Found a set of 18" '06 Mustang wheels (50mm offset) on craigslist for $400 with tires and only a few thousand miles on them. Got the price down to $350 and bought them. They are in mint condition and polished. Got them on the jewel green '95 and there are no "issues" they fit fine except I get a little rubbing in the front when I turn hard because the tires are a little too high in profile (235/50/18). I think they look good, definately different. These are just pics I took tonight, will post better ones when I can.

Wow those stick out kinda far... do they rub on bumps on the freeway?
Only rubbing is the front when I cut a hard turn, they dont stick out past the fender at all though. They dont rub on speed bumps or humps on the highway, etc. The tires are high profile for an 18" wheel (235/50/18), which is stock size for the '06 GT they came off. I'm thinking of getting a slightly lower profile tire for the front, probably a 45.

They look to sit about close to my stockers to me.

PS..Destroyer you really need some exhaust tips on that car!! It would really clean up the back end!(I can't just believe I told a guy to clean up his back end! ugh!)

These wheels are .7" out further which isn't bad, my 18" Bullits on the '98 stick out .5" more so the difference is neglible. The tires however are another story, these tires are very tall compared to the stock 16" tires and substantially taller than the 245/45/18's on the '98. I need to get some 40-45 series up front, the back is just fine. And yes I do need exhuaust tips, actually I'm looking at the LMS exhaust with the dual x pipes/mufflers for the car. I think thats a pretty sick looking setup. But give me some time man, I've only been a Mark owner for 3 months and I've been dumping money into both of them at a rapid rate.
:D

I'd say it looks decent, I'm not full set on good yet. :D Glad you got the spacers to work though....I'm sure you're the only guy with 06 GT rims on a Mark 8!

I'm looking to use spacers on some wheels made for the 05+ GT's, do you guys think they will work? The specs on them are they are 18x9 with a +40mm offset. I am thinking of using 255/45/18 inch tires all around, will it work with the spacers or not?

No

Why won't they fit with spacers while yours fit with a 50mm offset?
Well, the spacer is 1" or 25mm. This gets subtracted from the 50mm offset wheel so you wind up with 25mm which is 14mm less than the stock M8 39mm wheels but still usable and acceptable. So if you got a 36mm wheel and used a 25mm spacer you would end up with only 11mm and the wheel would stick out way too much. Same for a 40mm wheel but slightly lesser so.
