97 MARK VIII headlights not working:(

I have finally gotten to the finishing pieces since the wreck. Passenger side was not damaged. I struck a guardrail with the driver side fender with a glancing blow. I am replacing the entire headlight assembly. I got the light off ebay. After
connecting the light I have no lights on either side.:confused: I feel this could be some sort of ballast. Any suggestions would be appreciated. B.T.W. I do have a 97 donor car. However it also was hit in the front. The headlights on the donor car are in tact.
 
Never mind . I started checking and replacing bulbs. And sure enough some of the bulbs suffered in the wreck. Thanks anyway.
