Oh you guys don't know what an "old" camera is! Here are two of my older cameras! Both use glass plates as film hadn't been invented yet. To expose the image you remove the lens cap and wait a while then replace it as there where no shutters yet. To set the aperture you insert a metal plate with a hole in it. This is why people in old photos appear so stiff, they had to stand still for a minute or so while the glass plate exposed.
I also have a projector for the glass plates, it has a lens that is 4" thick and 6" in diameter and uses a candle as a light source.
I paid the equivalent of $20 for the big one on the left in 1968 at a Paris flea market and it came with all it's parts. Some day I'll try to take a picture with it if I can get the glass plates.
I had an excellent time. Many thanks to Jeremi and Margaret for hosting!
It was great to see so many old friends again, meet people I've known on the board, and new people altogether!
Also, I'd like to thank those who got a few shots of the Saxmobile.
I know I couldn't bring my MK, but its nice to know that after over 1800 miles, my car made it into a few pics!
Since so many other people posed car pics, I’ve focused more on people...
And it really was easier to just put the whole shopping cart into the trunk of the caddy then bother unload it...
Ok, this should be a vid of the MK8 parade driving by...
The lawn mover you hear in the back ground was a woman to the right of the camera who after everyone had passed asked if we were a Lincoln Continental club...
So she gets partial credit for at least knowing the cars were Lincolns...
I should also add that at the end of the vid, Isaac was yelling "come on do a burn out" to the mail man...
who looked less then impressed...
Now for everyone who wasn't there, notice how long the string of cars is. After the first vid was taken, I passed all the MKs in the oncoming lane to get set up in the intersection.
Also notice that after the first car passes going to the right, I walked out into the road to stop traffic...
Saxy, you seem to have one pose. Do I have to thank you again for holding back pics which I would die if they were posted? (Not like I'm thrilled with the ones you did post, so I can only imagine hee hee).
