parking brake problem

My parking brake wont go all the way 2 the floor as its should, I got under the car and looked for something that could be blocking it but no luck. I dont want to try stomping on it and end up brakeing something. any ideas?
 
I think if my parking brake went all the way to the floor I woulld be pretty serious about getting some brake work done right away.
 
If I'm not mistaken every time you back up it adjusts the brake. Try it a few times to see if that helps.
 
I think you guys are thinking about adjusting the self adjusting, self energizing, shoe brakes. We don't have shoe brakes on our cars.

I checked my service manual, and it says that the parking brake cable can be adjusted using a special tool.

Not true Bud. I wish I had your guy's experience.

We need you to keep us youngsters (yeah, right) in line.:D

Another thing about the parking brake, the rear pads are adjusted when the parking brake is used. You might want to take a look at the rear brake pads to make sure that they are in good shape.
