Mark VIII

In mid-October, I will be buyying a 97 Mark VIII. It will be a parts-car (hopefully) for my 93. It has the Octastar rims I like, plus a few other things. The car is being sold to me becauase it has a blown head-gasket (?) and some electrical issues with the driver side door. My main question is: what will interchange with my 93? It has the air-ride conversion (two years old) and I would like to replace my conversion kit (struts in the front , springs in the back) with it. Also, I would like to keep the windows, window motors, alternator, exhaust, tranny, etc. Basically, everything but the engine, and the actual body. Can I do this, and is anyone interested in the extras?

I don't think the exhaust will fit.

The coil conversion should work.
Alternator will work.
You should do something about those octastars they are worth some money.

Too bad your so far away otherwise I would take that motor and trans off your hands!

To answer your questions a lot of the mechanical stuff will work, the chassis is the same but the exterior and interior changed some but the majority of the parts are interchangeable or at least can be made to work.

Will the headlights (HID) fit? Also, will the amp fit?
Big-If the price/offer is right, I'll personally deliver the motor and tranny, or we could meet up halfway.
I will be putting the Octastars on my 93 Mark VIII, and more than likely be selling the originals (Factory).
Basically, the only things that will be left after I start yanking stuff will be the engine, minus all the accessorys (water pump, alternator, A/C pump, ect.), the transmission, and the body. If anyone wants individual parts, let me know and the offer by PM. If the offer is right, I will part with all but the Octastars.

The HID headlight bulbs will fit, if you have gen 1 HID headlight housings. If you don't have HID housings, you could sell the HID bulbs (and the housings) easily, I would think.

The JBL amp has 1 different connector in the 97 unit. It will work if you splice the 97 connector onto your 93 wire harness.

I don't have the gen 1 HID Housings (wish I did), what would it take to modify/change the reg housings to accept HIDs?
