front suspension problem

First off I'm fairly certain I know the problem but want to double check.

background story:
Came out this morning and the front was slammed. Came out of work at nooner and the front was slammed. After an afternoon meeting went out to my car and the front was slammed.

Got back from work this evening and decided to look around. Shortly it began venting the small amount as typical. Then it started venting a lot! Within about 2 or 3 minutes it had slammed. Completly on the passanger side, almost completly on the drivers side. Looking around on the passanger side the rubber grommet type thing is blown out. The bag itself looks good.

Would this little rubber grommet be the cause of the quick venting? As of right now I am blaming it on that. I can't do the work myself as my garage was broken into 2 days ago... and the only thing they stole were my tools. They left the other car, other set or wheels, the air compressor and the jack and jackstands.

Anyways I plan on taking it to the dealership over lunch tomorrow to see what they say. I know it has to be fixed quick before it eats the compressor.

Sorry, but I cant picture just what "little grommet" you are referring to. Can you describe where it is located?

If you are looking straight at the wheel. There is the arm that extends outwards and then runs down and dissapears behind the wheel. (I didn't take the tire/wheel off). Behind the arm is the actual bag. On top of the arm there is the what I'm calling "rubber grommet." Its most likely something else but thats what I'm calling it.

The one on the drivers side looks fine. The one on the passanger side is clearly blown out and eaten up pretty bad. Looks like a nice hole in it. I tried to stick my finger in it but only succedded in getting nice warm black stuff all over myself. If it wasn't dark I'd take a pic.

going through the strut replacement FAQ's and grabbing pics this is the closest one.

I'm not quite sure if thats what I'm actually meaning to describe or not. (Circled in red top left corner). Hard to tell from that viewpoint. But its definetly in that area.

Guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow.

UPDATE:

both front bags are "torn." And there is apparently a leak near the condenssor of the compressor. Dealership wants $2700 to fix it all. By the end of the night I will have decided if I want to do it myself or not. I'll probablly be doing it myself :(

The part that is circled in red is the rubber boot that covers your upper ball joint. It has nothing to do with your air suspension. Since it's torn you should check that joint out. It will be easy to change, since you will have the struts out anyways.

Repairs are completed.

My dad came down and we did everything together. Took a total of about 4 hours. Struggled with the bolt on the drivers side air spring. Probablly spent 45 min trying to get it out. It just got caught on the last two threads.... what a PITA that was. Then the other time consuming part was putting the bumper cover back on and trying to line all the holes up with the splash guard and getting them back through those plastic washer clip things.

The passanger side air spring was "rubbed" down so much that the air was just gushing out of it. Strange thing was this basically happened overnight and was not a gradual leak down. Ordered my air springs from american air suspension... the stickers on them said Arnott Industries though.

Driller, thanks for your help!
