Florida meet Sunday October 21st

I'm gonna try it one more time, if there is no interest this time around, i wont bother again, sorry!
i want a get together, cook out and photoshoot. my buddy Rob is a photographer and is building a website to host race events and pretty much anything to do with cars. he will be there as well to take pics, he is awesome and has some nice equipment. the place will be Anderson Park on us 19 in tarpon springs, its very easy to find, it sits on the banks of lake tarpon and has plenty of pavilions and grills, its free, and has a large boat ramp for anyone who wants to bring a boat or jet ski. bring your fishing poles also if you want to fish. this would end up being a much more layed back place to have the meet them the last one we had, much more shade, lots of places to walk to, much easier parking and i believe you can have beer in this park with a permit, i will check into it, not that i want to promote everyone getting smashed, but i know how beer can make strangers feel a little more at ease when you dont know everyone. i'm gonna keep it simple with food, hamburgs and dogs. people can bring whatever they want, but i'm keeping it simple, getting together is more important then talking about food, there wont be any food if there is no people!! i figure by the middle of october we may finally get a break in the heat, its way to hot now to spend a day in the park outside!! anyone who wants to add anything to this feel free, lets actually make this happen this time guys, there are plenty of us out there in the state, we already know that, if you have to work that day, take it off now, then your boss cant say anything! no excuses this time, lets make it happen there is no reason we cant. chime in anytime. thanks.

I'd come out to see everyone and meet new people, but the Mark is still in surgery at the moment trying to get ready for the shootout. I am selling my lil blue truck and it's currently sitting at dealership on consignment for my sellout bid, so the only vehicle left to go there with is the dually. And that thing eats gas like my old 79 Trans Am. Ill see how close i get when we get closer to October. I just met IOWNCARS up here in my panhandle locale too. Maybee i can cruise down with him if my schedule permits and he wants to go, or gets his new hood painted in time.

i'd love to meet some new people, so if you guys can come down, it will be a great time for sure.

I'll be there. Don't say I didn't warn you. LOL! My Mark should be in the shop getting a Vortec.

I just bought a '93 mark viii a couple of weeks ago, so it would be nice to meet other people with the same type of car because I am no mechanic but would love to learn to be able to fix up my new ride.

well, i had a post about this going on another board too , but apparently i am no longer welcome, so i cant respond to the people who replied on there, its all up in the air still, not too many people said they will deffinetly come, so i dont know what to do now?

Go for it Jaime! It might not start out as big as you want it to be, but the more you have them the more people show up. If I were able to I would -- I've wanted to meet JC and his car in person for quite a while now!

well we had one awesome turn out in july, but then i tried for august and it never happened, didnt try for september, but, the thing is some members of another board said they would go, but i have no way of contacting them now, so i dont know what i can do, i cant tell them anything, but i'm still willing to go, but i think since i am not sure who will go or not im backing out of having a cook out, just make it a meet, and if people show, we can all head somewhere to eat afterwards. i just wish i had emails to the other members. oh well, not much i can do!

Well, I'm still up for it. Just let me know if it's a go, and I'm there. My wife and daughter may still be coming as well. Anyone else bringing kids? My daughter is 4, so if no one else is bringing their kids my wife might just back out, but I'll still come.

I tried e-mailing Dan (Asysz) but haven't gotten a response. I'll dig up his phone number and give him a buzz to follow-up.

I'll go ahead and post an update on the other board for you as well.

By the way, what time is this all going down? Noon-ish? I don't think I've seen an exact time mentioned yet.

sorry jacob, i'm calling it off, if you could let anyone who wanted to attend on the other board that its off, unless you guys want to get together still, but i wont be attending, ever sorry guys.

if you guys decide you still are going to meet, i'll go, but im not doing a cook out or anything now, but if you guys still would like to meet sunday, i'll go.

sorry i gotta bail, i got a guy coming to pick up 3 motors sunday at my shop. unless you guys all want to meet at my shop lol, its only a 1/2 mile from the park where i wanted to have the meet. i already have 3 marks there so i got an early jump lol. we can all leave from the shop to go eat, its just a thought, i'd like to see everyone but im extremely busy this weekend.

As much as I really wanted to come and see this meet happen (and would have come to Jamie's shop for it, too) I've gotta bail, too. My wife just balanced the checkbook, and informed me that we can't spare the gas this time around.

Maybe we can try a November or December meet? I just got a new job, so once those paychecks start rolling in, it should be much easier for me to make it to them.
