I don't have any track times with 4.6 dohc yet because it's all stock now and there is no point to take it to the track like that.
Oh, I know a few fast SuperCoupes. I was just at the SC Shootout a couple weekends ago.
That's awesome you can fit the DOHC V8 in what used to hold a good bit less displacement. How much modifying to get it to physically fit? How much weight difference is there?
First off, welcome to the board!
secondly, I would have no problem with your car being added to the list.
It might be a T-bird, but it's heart and soul are "ALL LINCOLN"!
THIRDLY..and foremost.
you should go to the track and run the car in it's current trim.
If for no other reason as you need a good BASELINE with current combo, that way you can accurately evaluate your future mods.
So, NOW.. you have a reason to go RUN THE CAR!
Keep us posted and again.. WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!
Nice Thunderbird SC, and I agree take it to the track right now to get a good baseline!
Your garage looks kind of like mine except that I have all kinds of 385 series big block ford and 335 series Cleveland parts in mine! Since your car already came with a 5 speed manual why not leave it a manual transmission? From what I read into you post you converted over to an automatic. One of the things that I wish was offered when they made the MK8 is a manual transmission! When my automatic transmission was dead in my MK8 it sat for almost 2 years because I was "going to convert it to a manual transmission"! When I added up all of the work required to move the computer, find and hang SC pedals figure out how to disengage the clutch with what slave cylinder etc; I finally broke down and fixed the auto (to this day I still am not happy with the auto!). I still think the car would be much more fun with a manual transmission; but I guess that I am the minority!
