LSC w/ Hood Ornament?

I am the proud owner of a 1998 LSC, and I am thinking of putting a hood ornament on the car. I know that it is not a car made for a hood ornament, but has anyone out there seen a mark with an ornament before??? how did it look??

I have never seen one, probably because it would not look good.
 
Yes, there were pics of one that circulated around the forums a few months ago. To each his own. But I think it would cost several hundred dollars to take one back off. And for me, the answer isnt "no", its "h**l no!".. Thats a crude way to ruin an aluminum hood.
 
I've seen Gen1s with the hood ornament. They are even listed in the repair manual but were not really put in production.

I do not recall seeing a Gen2 with a hood ornament.
 
just keep in mind that after you drill that hole in your hood, a new hood costs 1,800 bucks and thats unpainted! you better really like that hole you drill.

This condition is called Selective Amnesia, it is most likely caused by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder brought on by seeing a Mark VIII with a hood ornament. :eek-large:
 
I'd go all out and get a Trans Am screaming eagle decal to cover the entire hood. That will dress it up a bit, and be more aerodynamic than a hood ornament as well. The car will be faster with the decal...
 
LOL!!!!!!!!!! that is funny - i think alot of you guys are very close minded - I do have a hood ornament on a Gen 1 - And the hood is fiberglass btw - and its really easy - i took one off of a 96 town car with a nice big shiny one, measured the width of my hood, made a mark where i wanted it, and VERY (edit) CARFULLY DRILL THE RIGHT SIZE HOLE. Also i bet you will find with the Gen 2's if you look under the hood where the bottom of the emblem would be you will see there is a mark cut out as if they were going to mass produce them, Now that i have my emblem on i would never live without it, im the kind of man that likes to see that big ass lincoln sign clearing my path and i can actually see my hood! It gives a whole new feel with the emblem and i would never go without it and will put one on any other mark 8 i get :) you can listen to those guys but me personally - i love it

why not just get some 3m double sided tape and test fit the ornament and take pics? that way before you go making a permanent change you have an idea of whether or not you like it.
 
It doesn’t make since to have the emblem on the grill and a hood ornament to me. But the ornament is a grate way to help you aim your car down the rode while driving intoxicated.
