08 Challengers

So last night me and a few buddies were heading up to Flint MI for a concert, and ran into heavy traffic through Detroit. I-75 turned into a parking lot, and thats when we noticed a new Challenger. We give him thumbs up, try to get the guy to do something, but traffic forces us way ahead of him. But wait whats that? Another one, turns out 6-8 Challengers were being transported up to Chrysler headquarters. At least one V6, I believe two 5.7L V8's (you can tell by round exhaust tips) and about three 6.1L SRT8's (Rectangular exhaust tips). We were in my buddy's 05 Srt4 with a 50trim turbo. Well, the V8's wanted to play, and let me say, I want one haha. We were surrounded by them, doing burnouts, racing, my friend is working on getting videos and pics off his phone, once he does, I'll be posting.
 
Yea definitely Challengers. My videos didn't turn out, but I got the races on my buddies phone who was driving. He's at work but when he gets off he's gonna upload, I'll have the vids as soon as possible.

I thought the first year was going to be only offered in three colors. Only with a V8.

I hope the whole rear tail light lights up like on our cars.
 
Yea they only make about 5000 of them with the 6.1 V8... I am just suprised they are driving them around and racing ppl ;). Then again they love all the publicity they can get.
 
Theres going to be a pre-production run of 5,000, which I believe starts in March of 08. These will come in Black, Silver, and Hemi Orange. All will be 6.1L SRT8, with 5 speed automatics. After that initial run, full production will start with all three engine options, with the v8's also offering 6 speed manuals. I don't know if any other paint options will be added.

From what I saw the taillights do not light up like ours, but then again, most of it was cover by camo.

Anyway, a couple vids and another pic. Another one of my buddies has another vid but we're still waiting on him. First video started recording right after the Challenger took off, second video shows him taking off but then a car is in our lane so we could not run him. They weren't full out racing, just punching the gas and probably getting up to around 90 mph from our 70 mph rolling speed. I don't necessarily condone street racing, but we couldn't pass up this opportunity. Also we were excited, hence all the unnecessary yelling, lol. Its crappy quality but cell phones were all we had.

I'm just excited for the new muscle cars coming out, like the Challenger, and Camaro, heck I'm even excited about the G8 and the Ute.
 
jeeze, i think we're at somewhere around 3.20 for premium here. Idk though, its been awhile since i filled up. Gotta love those extra chemicals in cali gas.
 
Finally got the last video. Can't hear sound here at school, but I believe this one gives a good example of what the 6.1L is gonna sound like.
