I joined the Lincolns of Distinction group to get some help with my 1984 Lincoln Mark VII Turbo Diesel. I ordered a fuel pump from the local auto parts store. I believe this is a generic pump that is installed outside the fuel tank. I would like to know if anyone has had to replace the fuel pump on their Lincoln Turbo Diesel. The fuel pump I purchased is an Airtex E2324, the same as Delphi FE0323. The fuel pump installation instructions are vague. Not sure if the diesel engine cars had the fuel pump in the fuel tank like the gasoline engine cars. I plan to install the pump in the engine compartment, close to a power source. This was my father's car that has been parked for awhile and this is the first time working on getting it started. Thank you, David
