It was a weekend off for me and what better way to spend it but at the track. :)

We left home Friday night to go to Hagerstown, MD and hoped to participate in a private track rental early Sat. morning. Rain was forcasted, but I chanced it anyways as they still had a Test and Tune session scheduled for both Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

Surely it couldn't rain all 3 chances out. ;)

Well, Saturday was rained out all day :B but Sunday looked promising.

It was cool(lower 50s), slightly breezy but sunny all day. That was the bright side. The downside was it was extremely crowded. I knew it was going to be a long day when they announced they were going to alternate calling cars to the staging lanes by even/odd numbers. My number was T81, odd. After swapping tires and emptying the trunk I went to tech. The long line at the tech checkpoint almost caused me to miss the first round of runs as they announced odd numbers first to the staging lanes.

It was also going to be a frustrating day as tons of trailered 'slick cars' and Pros were in attendance as well. Hitting the staging lanes so late, it was impossible to forecast who the exact opponent would turn out to be. But as the line started to move it proved to be a matchup with a 9 second Pro Mustang.

I smoked the Hoosiers pretty good for the burnout and approached the tree. With the open headers on the Mustang along with his power launch at 4000 rpms, it was impossible to tell if I spun coming off the line. I ignored the white missile to my right and concentrated on running it to the end. I noticed the board showed a disappointing 0.116 for my reaction time and was amazed as the win light came on in my lane as I crossed the finish line even though my opponent was far ahead. I could only presume he redlighted at the launch.

Taking the first turnoff, I came down the return lane and picked up the timeslip and proceeded to the pits as there would be no hotlapping today. :( Besides the disappointing reaction time, the numbers on the slip weren't too bad for a first run of the day.

60ft - 1.925
300ft - 5.613
1/8 - 8.683
mph - 79.34
1000ft - 11.360
1/4 - 13.616(win)
mph - 99.88

I figured that would be the best of the day as it was sure to warm up a bit in the bright sun and density altitude would be going up from here. I was right, after almost a two hour wait, the second run brought in these numbers from a loosing run against a Pro Street car...

R/T - 0.137
60ft - 1.935
300ft - 5.663
1/8 - 8.763
mph - 78.59
1000ft - 11.463
1/4 - 13.732(loss)
mph - 99.45

It took over two hours to pass before the final run of the day. I staged just a wee bit deeper in an attempt to drop the reaction time. That proved fatal as the launch was a redlight! The final run was another loss, this time to an older but nice looking Chevy C10 pickup with a healthy dose of cubic inches from a GM big block tricked out to the max. I brought in these numbers...

RT - -0.003(Redlight!)
60ft - 1.959
300ft - 5.660
1/8 - 8.735
mph - 79.50
1000ft - 11.415
1/4 - 13.685(loss)
mph - 99.04

And the saga continues... }(

RE: 4/9 Test & Tune 13.616 @ 99.88

23 runs thusfar this year and the averages are:

RT - 0.088
60 ft - 1.964
300 ft - 5.696
1/8 - 8.790 @ 79.20
1000 ft - 11.478
1/4 - 13.745 @ 99.62
}(

Just can't seem to break that 80mph in the 1/8 or keep that average trap speed in the 1/4 at 100 or above. ::wtf::

Need more power! ::grrr::

LOL! :D

The current path consists of:

Paint.
Shiny intake swap.
Suspension tweaks.
{Save up money}
Heads/Cams

Somewhere in there I'll probably play with exhaust cutouts.

When are you gonna put on the DRLRKILR license plate? hmm, that was supposed to be driller killer but it looks really stupid actually.

.:7

Funny you should sat that. A few weeks ago at the track, the announcer called me "Drilla Killaaaa" with a classic boxing ring announcer dialect. :7
