97 mark viii engine

does anyone no ? i have a 97 mark that needs engine
all the salvage yards ask me the producion date
what engine will fit in car ? tha dealer does
not ask for prod date any info would be great

Vehicle Certification Label

The Vehicle Certification Label (V.C. Label) is affixed on the LH front door lock panel or door pillar. The upper half of the label contains the name of manufacturer, month and year of manufacture, Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) and the certification statement.

RE: 97 mark viii engine

Any engine from a '93 - '98 Mark VII will work. If you use a '93-'96 engine, you'll just have to take a few more parts off of your old engine.
