Its controlled the same way on my 96 Steve. The 96 is definetly the bestest mark you could get. :)

Look on top of your emergency brake pedal, there should be a switch there. You may have had your foot placed to high on the pedal when applying the brake and dislodged the wire with the toe of your shoe. Just an idea.

I agree with your assessment of the 96. They are the best

My Mark normally has the headlights on at all times...

This morning, I got in and immediately got a message warning to check exterior lamps --- and they were both unlit. However, when I actually turned the switch - they lit fine, same with the brites. But they dont come on unless I turn the switch. Ideas????

Ok.......... Typical Ford Product. They work again. Dont ask me why. They just decided to work. Maybe they were on strike for the day.

Is your car a Canadian Sold car originally? If it was a US Sold car they do not have daytime running lights. You know that you have to have the dial on your dash turned to automatic for them to operate automatically? Roll the dial till it clicks. There is a photocell in top of dash on passangers side that controls lights on US sold Gen 1 models. If you have a dash cover over it your lights will operate during the day. Try your manual it should explain all.

As a matter of fact I did, Art. What your point. Can I not offer an idea. Lets see, first he said "I think my car is Canadian" so we really aren't sure of that fact yet are we. You know this is stupid, I don't need to explain myself to you, and you don't need to critique me. Should I decide I want to be critiqued, I'll let you know. Ok?

You don't know me very well. I'm not getting in a huff. I just prefer to speak out when something happens that bothers me.
