ALARM going off on it's own!

Gotta Problem with the "anti-Theft" alarm going off after about 20 sec. when I lock up using the buttons to lock both doors or using the lock from the key chain remote to lock both doors. If I lock up manually I'm OK. Do you think this is other BIG buck deal?

Ormly, try disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it after about 5 minutes. Turn the ignition a couple times with the battery unhooked to make sure there is no juice left. Then try spraying WD-40 in the hood latch mechanism and in the door latches.

That happened to me after I had the car serviced. The genius mechanic forgot to put the cover back on the underhood computer connection and left it on top of the shock well. When the hood closed, the alarm pin was not fully depressed, so it went off. Put the cover back where it belonged, end of problem.

Thanks fellows for your kindnesses.

It turned out to be the security popup switch for the hood. Somehow it lost it's moorings and dropped down out of the bracket that holds it in place thus the hood was always open to the alarm system..
