Alighning headlights

Following a truck, it kicked a rock and broke my right headlight.

Luckily I found a set of headlights on EBay, just arrived today.

all the ones I have seen are all gunked up around the adjusters.

Does everyone lube them up with something first, clip them in and then adjust them?

Is there a actual tool to use, or does everyone just use a pair of pliers? I don't think there is a socket small enough for them.

BTW, used toilet paper rolls make great makeshift adjuster,

I used a 4 or 4.5 mm socket I think.

Yeah I got one, but are you supposed to use snap ring pliers or some needle noses to squeeze the retainer clip so the thing doesn't turn?

You just turn the bolt..
