Almost ready to go

Last thursday and Friday the movers came and packed up everything in my house and its in the truck on its way to CA. The saddest part is my motorcycle went with it.

We closed on our house yesterday and even though I only owned it for 2.5 years and the shape of todays economy/realestate market we still made a decent proffit. I pick up the check today.

We werent sure if it would sell before we had to leave on June 1st so we put it on the market march 1st, 3 months out. We got an offer in 6 days and within 8 days it was under contract for our asking price. Couldnt ask for anything more than that.

So Melissa and the kids are headed up to WV to live with my parents until I get to leave June 1st. Then I have to be in CA by July 1st. Housing prices are OUTRAGEOUS in Cali so we are gonna stay in base housing. Only problem is there is a 2-6 month wait list so the wife and kids will stay in WV until we get assigned a house and then I will fly back to get them and drive across the country again. Good times. It sucks being away from my family, buts its not like I havent done it before. At least this time I wont be getting shot at!!

I havent made a coast to coast trip in the mark for about 4 years so I am looking forward to it. Should be a good time. And yes, I remembered to put the jack and spare tire back in the trunk.

Sweet man, you're coming to my area! (Kinda) Too bad about the family, but the time will go by fast. I'm currently house shopping too and the houses are pretty "cheap" right now, but I'm sure to you they are still expensive to you.

29 Palms. Been there before a couple times so I already know what to expect. Looking forward to it though, surprisingly.

It's not too bad there.. at least it wasn't in the 70s.
Good luck out there and thanks for serving our country.
