RE: Carlisle Registrations Open

Sorry I have to make this post. I will not be able to attend this year due to several factors. 1st, finances will not allow it. 2nd I have a new job and do not get any paid time off till next year. 3rd I may become a full fledged traitor in the next 6 months once my gm employee discount becomes active. Yep I now work as an assistant parts manager for a Chevrolet Dealership. I will someday have another lincoln as a second car. The Focus will probably go away in 6 months as a trade in on a brand new 2006 Monte Carlo SS if all goes well. Sorry to bring this bad news as I had one of the best times of my life last year at Carlisle.

Bill,

It won't be the same without you there. Hope you can make it somehow.

RE: Carlisle Registrations Open

I wish I could just come for the weekend but not looking too good. Being the Assistant Parts manager has its drawbacks the 1st year in the way of vacation time. I may be able to slip out that weekend but I will not know till sooner to that time. I certainly hope that I can make it at least one day.

RE: Carlisle Registrations Open

No but they did ask at what time in the spring that I put the mower deck back on it. LOL I was rolling at that one. Oh well with any luck I will be back in a large v8 car soon enough. Only bad part is that the new Monte is FWD and no manual trans but I can live with that. This new Displacement on Demand Technology is great. It actually states better fuel economy than the focus. Imagine that.

RE: Carlisle Registrations Open

Bill, I cannot believe this. Carlisle will not be the same without you there. Brad and I always look forward to spending time with you at the event.

And you're buying a Chevy??? I thought you were a diehard Ford guy??? ;(

RE: Carlisle Registrations Open

Rene, I too always enjoy the time spent with both you and Brad. I am doing all I can to make the event for Friday night and the rest of the weekend. I will probably make it if I leave directly after work on Friday at 4:30. I still love Ford, but my new job at a GM dealer somewhat dictates what I should be driving, especially when I am to go out and drum up parts sales one day a week. But at least I am not settling for a cobalt or something that is your simple grocery getter. Currently pricing used 2005 GTO coupe. RWD, 6 speed, and 400 hp. Oh well it is not going to happen till after Carlisle so I will still have the SVT for one final Carlisle. If I do not make Carlisle I will be very upset this year.

I've got it! Go ahead and buy a Cobalt as your work car. (Or are you just dying for some V8 horsepower again??) }(

RE: Carlisle Registrations Open

No cobalt for me. I am dying for that mighty V8 and RWD again! }( I am going to make it I just have to keep telling myself that.

RE: Carlisle Registrations Open

It is tempting Leo, but since I have no garage in which to keep Moose, I will have to turn down that offer. I would hate to see Moose subjected to the harsh Ohio winters outside in the cold. I have always committed the sin of coveting thy friends car. Hope it goes to a nice home.
