CD Changer Not Working

I recently swapped out the factory radio in my 93 Mark with another factory radio. After doing so, the cd changer wont activate by the play button on the radio. It worked before. I tried putting back the old radio thinking it was the new radio. After reinstalling the old factory stereo, it still did not work. Is there some kind of code or something? Am I missing something?

There is no code. It should operate simply by making the right connections.

Well, I have no idea what could've happened. I was very careful to make sure that the connections were put back correctly. There are 4 plugs in back of the radio, and they have predesigned spots. It still will not work.
