Did you guys read about that Enzo crash a few years ago?

J

OCCUPY LoD :)
I just got a FWD email from a friend that shows pictures of an Enzo crash with the heading being "Dad, can I borrow your car?"

Shows pictures of a new Enzo, than shows pictures of the Enzo after hitting a telephone pole and ripping in half.

It goes on to say that the owners daughter borrowed the car and hit 200 MPH before hitting the pole. Riiiight.....first of all, what young girl in their right mind is going to be able to drive a car like that, and second, there is NO normal girl that will easily take an Enzo up to 200MPH without flipping out around 90 MPH. The last thing it says in the email is "and the car only had 9 miles on it!". OMG, whoever wrote this email was a tool.

So....I went to WebCrawler, and after 2 seconds to load the page I find this......(stupid ads blocking half the page!!! GRRR!)

Completely different story, with a bunch of bonus material I might say!

good, i dont really care what the true story is behind the crash, thats one of them more money then brains people i reffer to. stupid ass is lucky that he didnt kill someone else in that crash. thats what happens when you try to show off in your 51 million dollar car or whatever they cost. now how cool is that car, looks like about 180 dollars worth of scrap metal now.

when asked what they thought about the wreck, Ferrari said they'd pick up the car, and rebuild it.

when asked if they were angry that something like this happened, they replied "no...the car was built to be driven like that"

I cant imagine a car that the manufacture selects the owners, not vice-versa...no matter how bad one may want a Enzo, it isnt up to the buyer, it's up to the seller whether or not Ferrari will allow someone to have such a car.

You guys are missing the real story. In actuality it was driven by the owner, was drunk, and was racing another car. He tried to claim there was another driver but the cops didn't buy it. He was eventually found guilty of grand larceny and some other counts and is presently in jail.

A couple of weeks after that Enzio crash his wife was pulled over in a Mercedes SLR and she fled the scene on foot. Apparently the Mercedes was stolen!

----------
"Kudos to the Los Angeles Times for having its editorial teeth deep in the story of a man who shot to fame last week for wrecking a million-dollar, unregistered Ferrari Enzo in Malibu—and following the story down some very strange corridors. First, the driver insisted there was a co-driver, named Dietriech, who escaped the wreck. The cops didn’t buy that, and tested the driver, Stefan Erikssen, to a .09 BAC. Then Erikssen’s past as a videogame developer and car collector came to light. Now, the Times has found out that Scotland Yard may have listed one of Erikssen’s other cars, a Benz SLR, as stolen; too, the paper says a Scottish bank may lay claim to the leftover bits of the Enzo. Finally, police say they have found a gun magazine that might be linked to the case, and have an individual of interest who may have been in the car with Erikssen as a passenger. The killing details seems to be threefold: that this guy had two Enzos, that he lives in Bel-Air behind a gate (and a curtain of, for now at least, good damage control), and that he wasn’t going 120 mph on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu—but something more like 162 mph."

Did you read the updates?

You guys are missing the real story.

That was my point......this stupid fake email turned out to be a pretty good read after I searched for it! :D Crazy stuff....it says BOTH of the guys Enzo's were stolen AND the SLR.

Seriously...who leaves their Enzo sitting around to get stolen? Maybe they were rentals or something........

Jesse... they were not "stolen" in a sense of a stranger just sitting down and driving off with it... they were purchased and "not paid for" and "shipped to another country" haha

They don't have speed limits ;) and people get tickets by email, because they have speed cameras set up everywhere.

Right...I was talking about felons trying to flee a scene in a Ferrari. The police need something to at least keep up until the helicopters get there.

Why speed cameras if no speed limit??? Something here I don't get......

Some highways don't have a speedlimit... some do. Most streets etc obviously have them, many places with speed limits have cameras hidden off the side of the road. And if you thought Americans tickets are bad... lol

Driving is much more of a privilege over there than it is here.

It's called a radio. No cop should be going 170mph that is plain stupid.

My dad got sent to Germany for two years after he got drafted during Vietnam. He says the "Polezai" (?) had twin turbo Porches.

They must have used them for something...
