Door handle

hello just did a drivers side door handle on my 94 mark VIII with help from this site and all the write ups about it wasent to bad...

but now im done and it dosent look done lol the side that isnt attached to the latch pole just hangs there so im wondering how thats suppose to snug up?the handles i bought were from a newer mark or continental (the chrome ones) i was told the handles will work ..

the broken handle had a small hole for the spring to sit in and this one dose not but even with that hole i dont see how the spring is suppose to stay in place.

if anyone can make out would im trying to say it would be much help thanks.

Hey there...I'm trying to picture what you are referring to. Is the door handle sticking out from the door? For example, you open the door by pulling the handle but the handle doesn't spring back into place, flush with the door?

Yea like its the drivers side so the latch rod side is on the right and is hooked up and working fine opening the door but the left side is just floping around.

Sounds like the pin in the hinge didn't get installed properly or is missing. The handle on that side has a hole/pin type hinge so when you remove the right side, you just slide the left side out of the hole. You're gonna have to pull the door panel off again and look but I think its a simple fix....you just missed the hole.
