Door skin

Ok so I got hit by some hs chick a while back and it bent the driver side fender in some and flipped the door skin back where the two meet. I picked up a door from the junkyard and had a quick question.

Can a body shop just replace the door skin if it has already been used on another car? for instance just swapping the two? Jamie ?

Ck,

Removing a good door outer panel (skin) is no fun ! Use a good used door or buy a New Outer Panel ! I speak as a lifetime autobody repairman !

i agree with sonny, why not just put a whole door from another car on it, you'll save time and money, dont mess with changing one skin to another door, its much easier to swap a door.

Thing was I already payed 54 bucks for the door from the junkyard, but when I went to check the internals they were trash. Thanks for the info.

so swap yours over, everything from your door will slip right into the new door.

Unhemming a door skin is no fun, especially if you need to reuse the skin so you can't damage it... you move on to those kind of desperate processes when there are no good doors to be bought....

i have a mint door in my shop for free if someone wants to pick it up! both actually left and right, otherwise off to the crushers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
