Exhaust leak

I have a exhaust leak on my 1995 mark 8 some where near the back of the engine on the drivers side. It does not seem to be coming from the manifold. I have been on top and under the car listening but I can not pinpoint it. Is there anything near the back of the motor that would cause this????
Thanks

RE: Exhaust leak

What route does the EGR take and what kind of material is the tube made of. Is it made of metal or something else? Are these dealer only items? Also how hard is it to remove and replace? There is not alot of room around these motors.
Thanks again
Matt

RE: Exhaust leak

made out of metal. runs between the exhaust and the intake on the back side of the motor. royal pain to get to or replace.

RE: Exhaust leak

Say hello to the infamous EGR tube. It's an $80 part from either Torrie or Max. One end screws into the front of the driver's side catalytic converter on top, and the other end to the EGR valve at the rear of the engine. It has an "accordian" section to allow for some flex. I believe it's made of stainless steel. Inevitably, the accordian section cracks, leaving you with an annoying small exhaust leak. Replacing it isn't easy.. numerous posts explaining how.
