im looking to get an exhaust done to my mark and just wanted some opinions on what sounds the best. Im going to have a true dual wih X pipe but any suggestions on mufflers? i want a good deep idle thats suddle while cruising but really screams when you get on it.

I took this cat-back setup...

...off the '93 and put it on the '96 with a pair of SS MagnaFlows and some awesome polished SS tips...

Youtube has some nice clips, I think I will be going with LMS double X pipe and Assasin mufflers. They look and sound great. I've looked at other mufflers they either do not sound as good or you have to buy the tip seperate from the muffler making a $60 muffler into $100 with the tip.
Driller your exhaust looks great I like those tips a lot.

You can go the "driller way" which is pricy if done right (600-1000) depending on pipes and mufflers used.

Or you can go the cheap route ($100). Just chop off the stock mufflers and put on a straight pipe. Car will sound much better and you will save 50 lbs.

I don't think I have any sound clips of he '96. But the '93 sounded like this...

The new SS setup with cutouts...

I actually prefer the sound of the SS Magnaflows over the DynoMax UltraFlows after having both.

I tried the straight pipe method this last week end the idle and low speed sound ok. but the get on it part wakes up every cop in a 10 mile radius! a little to high pitched for my tastes. did help on the fuel economy 1-2 (I commute 140 miles a day). guess I,ll have to save up for kooks& real duo exhaust w/ muffs.
