Ford GT with TT, 1k+ RWHP

Of all places today I was at the Vette Doctors dropping off my Vette for heads and cam. They had a GT on the dyno with the SC removed and with TT installed. This was still a warm up run at over 900 RWHP, the said once they up the boost it will get over 1100 RWHP. The drag tires were slipping on the dyno and they were warming them up.
We asked the owner where he was going to use all the HP, the roads are way to congested here, he said maybe on an early Sunday morning sprint he can get on it for a few. Like most guys who don’t know what to do with there money he just wants bragging rights and has no intention of using all that HP on a track.

It was way loud in person and was pushing out a lot of air. It was just about deafening. Click image to play >>>

These things are like smaller displacement TT vipers, sprouting up all over with 4 digit number ranging up to 1500WHP. HP Performance built one of the earlier ones and made a brief advertmentary about it. Pretty cool.

Reminds me of the guy who was clocked at 210 coming from Captree one morning. His GT went on the Police auction block this summer.

Well.... now that I drive the Vette I don't use most of the power 95% of the time anyways... so I don't know... anything above 500rwhp needs AWD plain and simple. Having over 1100 hp to the rear wheels is pointless because no tire in the world is going to hold traction on street car.

Liike Steve said, it's just bagging rights. Although at nearly 1300 I think my friend George gets to be king bragger
