I have never posted on here before .I have a Mark viii 98 collector's edition . My husband and I bought it at an estate sale . It has the gold tag on the inside of the door # 159 Collector's Edition white pearl color with the prarie tan two tone int. C D changer in trunk. It has 162,000 miles on it . It really looks nice. No peeling on the wheels no rust. It is a very pretty car. I am trying to find out about what it is worth in the opinion of smart Lincoln people . I have been looking a lot and it is hard to find a real collector's edition simular to mine selling in the last two weeks . Any opinions are welcome.

Assuming the car is in good shape, being a Collector's Edition definitely increases the desirability of it. Good condition, "regular" '97 and '98 Marks seem to fetch 3-6k from what I've seen lately. Of course, there are always exceptions.

Bud is right. Photos would allow us to make a better assessment of the vehicle. Do you also have the Silver Ingot set that would have come with the car when new? If memory serves, the CE models came with another extra as well, that I am forgetting.. Others here will likely chime in with more accurate information on your car.

The ones i see getting $3k-$6k are usually under 100k miles, at 162,000 miles i doubt it will fetch that much.

Good point Steve, perhaps I'm a bit optimistic here.

Mods: is there some magical way to move these last few posts into a new thread for these folks?

Edit: Our moderators are pretty awesome. Just an FYI.

I always consult Nada Guides (www.nadaguides.com) for such things. At 162,000 miles this is what I got, I included the power sunroof:

Pricing:
Mileage: 162,000 -$125
Rough $725
Average $1,500
Clean Trade-In $2,175
Clean Retail $4,125

Options:
JBL Stereo System Std.
Power Sunroof $225-$250
TOTAL PRICE $825 to $4,250

How are the "Collector's Edition" lettering holding up on the inside wood trim on the door panels? Sometimes those rub-off. That's a font called "Bellevue" at about 65% height. I can re-create that with a vinyl cutter I have, in gold, but alas it would be a decal and not imprinted.

If your car is in decent shape, maybe just needs a little TLC and would be a keeper!

ADDED: Welcome to our forum!

I may even be interested if the price was right. PM me when you nail down an asking price if you are looking to sell. Pictures will help us to assist you in determining the value as well.

It is a Texas car .No salt on roads . I will try to post some pictures. I looked on nada but I thought lsc was one and collectors edition was another I couldnt find anthing about the collectors edition . I do not have anything but the car no ingots. They do not salt the roads here as we have not much ice in the winter. We are also not on the coast. After all I've read I am not probably as disapointed as the person that paid 42,000.00 for this car in 98 but it is so nice. I saw that nada price if that 4,000.00 is all it is worth I thought being that it was no 159 collectors edition that was better than just an lsc .

I will also take pictures of the lettering on the door panels I havent even noticed that . I want to hand wash it before I take the pictures and I want the sun shinning because the pearl paint is so pretty. It will take me a few days but I will be back on here with pictures in a few days . Thank you all very much for your knowledgeable opinions . I study collectables but not collectable cars.

There were over 1,300 CE sold and it was a $900 option over the LSC, so it is bot worth much more then an LSC. if it was low milage it would be more desirable. the ndna and edmunds tmv are good good lines, just remember to go by the private party sale price.
