Man, what a good day. I met Jesse(J), a great guy who is the (new) proud owner of Bob and Carol's old 95.

I'll let him tell you all about it, but what I know is:
it's slung low, sounds wicked, and looks as devilish as they come.

Here's how the day went. Brenda and I headed out early, stopped for some coffee, and headed to meet everyone else at the designated spot(restaurant near the show/fairgrounds).

Upon arrival, I see Bob and Carol's 98 base(toreador red) in the restaurant parking lot. As we are standing there, talking the usual, a healthy sounding car drives past us on the street. I turn to look, and I see a silver Gen 1 drive by. I knew Jesse had purchased Bob's old 95, so I asked Bob "is that your old car?" Bob sais NO. Then the car turns around and comes back...Bob see's Jesse and sais "yea, man he cleaned it up nice". I met Jesse, and I gotta tell ya, It was cool to talk "shop" with another Ford gearhead!

A few minutes later, Max and John showed up. I haven't a clue as to where our "President" was. He flaked. Bummer too, because supposedly Stanley had his car frshly painted, and was going to be "unveiling" the "evil one" at this event. No show.

I was also disappointed Bruce, and Dave couldnt come. So, the 6 of us meandered our way to the show. We sat in line out front, since we were waiting for Stanley and the gang at the restaurant. I had emailed the folks putting the gig together a few months ago, and told them we should have at least 8 of us. They set aside the exact same grassy area for us to park. When we got there, the guy at the gate asked me where the rest of us were, as he was told there'd be around 8 of us. I was a bit embarassed, and told him "I think they're running late".

We finally parked the cars, and got the chairs out, and set up camp. Then we headed out to check out the other Fords. Galaxies, Comets, fairlanes, Mustangs up the ying-yank, etc etc etc. But no more Mark VIII's.

Anyway, we kept mostly to ourselves. A few folks stopped by asking about the cars, and we stuck around until around 1:00-3:00(some left early).

Here's a few pics of those who SHOWED UP.

I have to admit, I was pretty upset our own President didnt show/call anyone. We ended up waiting in a pretty big line to get in, because we thought he was coming...oh well.

Thanks Bob, Carol, Jesse, Max, and John...it was great to see you. Brenda and I had fun. I spent way too long cleaning both cars yesterday, and I dont think anyone even noticed! :)

Gang, See you guys/gal again soon. The others who no showed...see ya *whenever*

Yep, this show is always a lot of fun! Next year, I hope to find someone to drive my T-Bird so I can have both cars there, (only two MN-12 style T-Birds showed up this year - both really nice SC's).
