i've heard 98 mark 8 hood is made of aluminum, fiberglass or sheet metal, could someone tell me for sure. i'm thinking some kind of functional heat extractors. not having excessive heat problems but a fool needs to be cool. thanks

Been thinking about doing this myself! :) I do have stop and go traffic heat problems when the A/C is on, and have been considering this option for a while now. There are a ton of Mustang ones out there, but I need to go buy another hood to mock something up before cutting on the hood that is on the car now.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

I almost went that route but did the 5 1/2" hood scoop instead.

Mike, when at the track you can remove the weatherstrip seal on the cowl at the back of the hood to allow heat to escape.

I suppose you could do the same on the street when there is no chance of inclement weather. ;)

Thanks JP :) That weather strip has been off the car since last summer. I was thinking of buying a used cowl and butcher it up and screen it to also help with the air flow.
