Ok, so I sold the black 97 LSC seat skins uppers and lowers. Can't get skins off with headrest in way. I put in search how to remove headrests in Google search. Nothing came up but those green dummy sites that lead you to nowhere land of "buy a subscription before we help you".
The sites said "they can't be removed". And one only said you have to pull up the rear cover of seat to get to unlock mechanism. Ok, that didn't help, I'll try to do a little better with show and tell pics.
Jumped on it anyways and went slow.
I took about 8 pics so bear with me till its uploaded.
I'll leave out the obvious disconnect battery yada yada...You guys already know all that safety jazz.
To remove the seat skins remove seats. Unbolt and separate seats (Not mandatory, but makes it a heck of allot easier working with separate base and back sections. Be careful not to damage wires and connections while doing this. Extend headrest full up position. Unscrew the plastic cover rings going around the chrome poles. Slide them all way up.
Unscrew tilt forward lever and remove cover plate. Unclip the long plastic tension clips that hold the leather to the cardboard and all around the seat. You'll see them. There all white and hold the leather taught against foam. There is one skinny bolt must be removed from lumbar motor first as it slides through the leather on one side of seat.
Do this on a nice shag throw rug or clean cardboard so you don't scratch up the leather. Turn seat headrest side down. Stick hands all way down into seat working apart Velcro strip tapes holding leather to foam underneath. Hold down on the prickly part glued to the foam as you separate the fuzzy side conned to the leather. Prickly foam side separates easily from foam and you'll have to glue it back later if you tear it. Go slow and careful. Foam is very brittle with no surrounding leather to press against.
Remove two plastic push in plugs with a fork removal tool. Remove one screw in upper right hand of picture holding cardboard seat backing to back of seat. Remove cardboard plate set aside. Now you have foam and springs exposed.
Carefully pull up foam slightly near headrest chrome poles. You will see black plastic channels that chrome headrest poles go into and two little metal spring lock tabs locking them in from full extension. They come out easy with needle nose pliers or small flathead screwdriver. In picture I'm pointing at the two removed. One picture has them installed on black plastic channels that hold the chrome poles of headrest.
Headrest slides out easily after that. Then remove the leather off top of back seat, then remove foam off rest of seat and you're done.
Really easy, but time consuming to do. Take your time and don't rip the foam. It's very delicate. If the Velcro tapes come off, just re glue them with 3M spray adhesive or hot glue gun when re installing the nice covers onto your seats.
Installation is reverse of removal.
Put foam onto metal seat first. Insert headrest through holes in leather seatback with it bunched up at top near headrest, then make sure you put the retaining clips back onto headrest black plastic you removed earlier. BEFORE, you slowly work leather down onto the foam of seat back. Make sure you connect all the Velcro tape strips, once leather is slid onto seat foam. They run along all the folds in seat and on edges of cracks to keep it nice and tight in the cracks when done. Snap back all the tension long white plastic edges. Make sure you thread the skinny bolt back through the lumbar motor on one side.
Done.

Heres the seat back showing cardboard backing and two plastic pushplugs on left side.
