How was your Carlisle drive?

Mine was great.

It's an 8 hour drive for me, and it was sunny for most of the time, to and from Carlisle.

Luckily, my trip was uneventful. The new trans sure feels good though.:)

I averaged 28.9 mpg on the way there, and 28.6 mpg on the way home, according to the message center.

Anyone else have a more interesting story than me?:D

I had rain the whole way up, and gorgeous weather the whole way down. Round-trip, including city driving, I averaged 24.2mpg for something in the area of 500 miles.

We had a dreary, rain filled drive up, but the return trip was nice, except for the part when Jason got a ticket for driving my car 98 MPH 40 miles from the VA/TN state line. He got a good lecture & a wreckless driving charge.

Don't have any interesting stories, but according to Google, with my side trips it was 1061 miles door to door, averaged about 22 MPG according to the computer, but that was fully loaded with 3 people in the town car.

Without side trips drive was 1018 miles home. I'm currently about 80 miles east of St Louis, so I haven't even made it home yet. 304 miles left according to the GPS.

Same as other east coasters..rain up, sun on way home.... 2 hours (or less) each way. Ohhhh, I'm tired!!! LOL .

Now who was I talking to about the anything 80 or over was not speeding, but reckless driving in Virginia?

Shortly after our departure, we managed to run into MindyMark and company at one of the rest areas. Then, we spent the next hour or so running with a bunch of the Merkur folks, but lost them at one of the toll gates. Never spotted that group, or the Town Car after that, but we really got a move on when traffic opened up.

Other than that, it was rain, Rain, and more rain. We pulled an all-nighter. Left the show around 4pm, and arrived home at 9:30 or so this morning. (including a 2 hour break for a nap and breakfast at about 4:30)

The biggest problem we had, we ran into a lot of water on the road in places, which, due to an alignment problem on the front, driver's side wheel, lead to a whole lot of hydroplaning. This definitely made for some exciting driving.

Oh, and I must have passed at least four Ford Flex's with MI plates... We got the appropriate nods and waves from all of them. These Marks really stand out in a crowd, eh?

total trip mileage, (including running around at the show) 2112.4 So it looks like MindyMark wins the distance award at 2383 miles! Congrats!

Speaking of mileage, but we haven't changed the oil in the Town Car since we bought it in Apr. But with this trip it's been about 5000 miles, so not too bad. I did add about 3/4 of a quart in PA somewhere.

Our drive on the way up was rain all the way.

We left today around 1PM and got home just before it started raining at 5PM.

The rest of the trip starts tomorrow. Hot Rod Power Tour for the remainder of the week! :)

We had an uneventful trip both ways, thanks to Brad's hard work. 529 miles each way.

It was sunny on the way in, until the last 1-1/2 hours. We thought we'd hit rain on the way back - went through some dark clouds - but didn't get wet.

It took 10 hours on the way in, thanks to Ohio "road construction" sites, and 9 on the way back.

I just got home. Little bit of rain today, but damn it was hot and humid in PA without AC. 1320 total trip miles. I'm tired. Saw Chris and Kristen on the road a few times today.

Sorry to hear about Jason's ticket, that sucks. Glad to hear of others who made it home fine, hope everyone checks in.

What, no A/C? What's wrong?

I made it home about 10 PM last night, good to be home with the puppies.

Air in the system. My son can fix it, but we didn't realize it until there was no time left for him to borrow the needed tools.

And yes, the kitties all needed to visit me and be cuddled when I went to bed. And I liked it. :D
