I'm thinking of upgrading my exhaust

It would sound hot too?! right? I think so, I always liked how my camaro sounded back 7 or so years ago when it had flowmasters, I just don't have money to do what everyone here is doing or have done. I just want some sound not too much.

I have a 97 LSC and have tinted windows, 18" tires and wheels with drilled and slotted rotors. Its a black car and really looks mean but now I need some sound for additude. Don't want to spend a fortune...as this car has true duels to start with. I heard Flowmasters are crap..does anyone out there have any input on the s/s muffs LOD sells??? Are they a "direct" replacement or do you have to modify anything? I also heard simply removing the muffs sound great....any input on this as well???
Thanks for any help. Please use my e-mail for a reply at fordguy@nni.com

for a decent sound and not alot of pocket deflating..... go for the dynomax race bullets. no muffs get to ya after a while, plus IMO the mark sounds like crap outside of the car during blastoff. sounds like an old car with no mufflers lol, bullets are 40 a bux piece shipped. bullets are the way to go! im surprised i didnt notice a bullet sugestion

I removed the 3rd cat and replaced with an x-pipe and replaced the muffs with flowmasters with 4" reactive tips. I think it sounds great. I have no drone and its not obnoxiously loud. I dont see why everyone is bashing the flowmasters? Here is a video and you can hear it inside the car at WOT. I will have to get one from outside the car later today.

After I replaced my 2nd set of Flowmaster 40 series mufflers because the insides rotted out, I went with magnaflow ultra's.

The flowmasters just coudn't deal with the amount of water that a properly tuned mark 8 will push thru the exhaust.

Another point is to clarify what specific type of flowmaster muffler was used... some sound like a can of nails.. Jamie had a vid of it on his mark... others sound nice.

I have had mine on for 4 years. They are not the 40 series, they are the smaller ones but I forget the name. They have 0 rust and I love the sound. I have heard some say they rust out from the inside, maybe it is the specific type of flowmaster. I am pretty sure they were the 60 series.

Mine would last right AT 100,000 miles before they rotted out on the inside.

how many miles you put on your car in 4 years?

I went thru two sets of 40 series delta flow flowmasters in 200K.

You wont see how much they are rusted until that little diverter in the end finally rots out.

By the time the "end diverter" rotted out on mine, there was "nothing left inside".. it was a hollow box.

How does something sound hot?
