Looking for something a little louder!

I currently have the LMS XpansionX mufflers on my Mark, but I might have grown out of them. My exhaust is pretty stock except for the mufflers and the removal of the resonator. Is there something I can do to make them a tad louder, or should I replace the mufflers - and ideas?

If you don't mind the drone, you can go with a Flowmaster 40.

Wear ear muffs.

Keep the mufflers you have and spend the money on Dan's ART cat-back exhaust. That will replace the 3rd cat and resonator with an x-pipe which will give you more sound and power. If you've got the money he can make a stainless exhaust system for your Mark.

if you get new mufflers i may be interested in buying your LMS ones, let me know

Well, I went to Mufflex, tell me what you think. $580 to run me a true dual and re-use my lms mufflers? Can't I do better than that?

Way too much! Especially w/o mufflers! I had about that much in mine total - including 2-1/2" ART single-X system from Dan, Ultra-Flows, chrome tips and installation!

The price is a little high, but you're going to have a tough time finding a garage to do this kind of work in the NJ/PA area. (You know, getting the 3rd cat cut out and making the pipes...........I know, I tried). There are a ton of people on this board that drove hours to Mufflex to get the work done. They have probably done over 100 Mark VIII exhausts. They did mine.

Even if you purchased Dan's (which is a great price and a great product), you'd have to pay for shipping and installation, which would bring you to within $100 of Mufflex's price.

Based on convenience Mufflex is the way to go, especially working in the same town they are in.

I'm assuming their price is higher because they are making the pipes right there, vs. a pre-fab set-up. (not that this would make the exhaust better)

I just had mine done at a shop I always use in northeast philly,,,,, they got rid of the silencer and ran 21/2 inch pipe with two 40 series flowmasters and two crome tips... they were very reasonable... the sound is good but i wanted real loud and nasty but its not... call me or stop up my work one day and ill start her up.... If you need it i sell the mufflers and the tips... just let me know....
