I was not sure where to put this post, so I just started a new thread. As my career is in Management in a New Car Dealership any thing can and will happen. I will not be able to attent this years All Ford event as planned. As of today My new car manager gave his notice and will be leaving on the 31st of this month....so until I get a new one hired it is all hands on deck. I was so looking forward to meeting my new Lincoln friends and to be at Carlisle since I have not been there since 2003. I will be there in spirit for sure. After 30 years in the car business I have learned to bend and flex a lot. The only good thing is My Mark VIII is standing tall.....but no place to go! :(
Have a great time folks!

Actually, we have a contest for this! the "Carlisle Curse." I'd say you're in the running.

Good luck getting a new manager on-board before the show.
It could happen, right?

:D

I dodged a similar bullet last week.

I'm hoping at this point it doesn't ricochet!

Sorry you won't be able to make the pilgrimage.

Gah...who gets to babysit Joe this year!?

Oh, he'll have plenty of company. no babysitting necessary!

The curse tried to catch me today. I took the Mark out to get the state inspection. Passed with no problem. I pulled out of the station and heard a weird noise that sounded like a shredding belt. "that had to be another car" i said to myself. Drove a little more down the road and went to turn right. That's when I realized I had no power steering. Lucky break because I was right by a parking lot and 15 minutes from home. Less than an hour later, I drove it home with no problems.

I think most of us have had the belt give up on us before.

I remember last year at Summer Blast, we changed the belt on Trixie's Mark VIII moments before the police escort to the park started. :D

Murphy caught me today. I may be later than planned tomorrow evening.

There was a mixup by my vendor for some goody bag item. Long story short, it didn't ship when planned and it turned out the vendor for the vendor had "lost" the order. An overnight shipment is being made and I will hopefully be picking up a "2nd choice" along with other items at the vendor in Maryland along the way.

That and my preferred garage still has got no inspection stickers!

Grrrrrrr...

Damage and injuries reported in Springfield, with several buildings destroyed. Massachusetts has just declared a state of emergency, and the tornado watch has been extended to 11pm. More strong storm cells have formed in the center of the state are are now headed toward the coast.

I hope our MA members are ok :(

Sorry to hear about all the Carlisle Curse cases, I've had a few myself.

I drove my car 100 miles today, nothing broke, so it should be good for another 600 miles or so.:D
(Famous last words)

What's up with all these state inspections? Isn't it common knowledge that these are just scams?:frown:

The base cops called me out yesterday morning about my outdated inspection sticker. Had to do it. And that's the second belt i've replaced. The last one went out on the nj turnpike at 80mph. :D

Thoughts and prayers are with those hit by tornadoes everywhere this year. :(

I had an incident last night. I was taking my wheels off to give them a quick polish and one of the wheel studs snapped off. I had new tires put on about 5 weeks ago, they must have used an impact and tightened that one WAY too much or just cross threaded it. I was able to find a stud and lug (that matched!) at 8:00pm. Now I just have to give her a wash, pack it up and be on my way. The curse lives on.....
