Hi folks! I know i haven't been around as much of late, just don't have much time to chill on the computer anymore.
I wrapped up work on the door pods some time ago. I have them mounted on my old crappy door panels for now, until I get time to remake the map pockets. They didn't turn out nearly as bad as I was afraid of LOL. I took some shortcuts in the process that I probably shouldn't have. I do have one tip for those who might attempt it. THe craftsmen 3D sander is a godsend. IT literally saved me hours of sanding. The hardest part, and where my short cuts most killed me, was actually having to cover the entire stock speaker hole. Drivers side looks fine but the passenger side is off a bit. OH well.
I can't comment on imaging yet, as I dont have all the speakers in. I am missing one of my angled tweeter cups. Steve from Arc audio was supposed to send me some, but I have yet to recieve them.
Now for the bigger news. Ampman audio is going out of business, and is holding a massive fire sale. I picked up the Revolution 1500D (1600 watt amp) for $200. It is the first one ever produced (serial number 001) and was Kirk Neal's personal amp. For now I'm going to hook it up to my L7 (950 watts at 2 ohms) But november (if not earlier) I will be getting a 15" RE XXX, and mounting it IB on the rear deck. It's the best way to show off the massive excursion, and the beautiful HUGE magnat structure, with spending gobs of money on plexiglass. I've been debating between the IDMAX and XXX for the best SQ woofer that gets hella loud, and the XXX won.
