This is my living room telephone. This house has always had dial service.
Back in the day, I decided to keep the dial service because it was cheaper than the touch tone service.
Then, they never broke, so I kept the service. I do have a touch tone phone that I can use for phone tree service 800 numbers, but I have to set it to pulse to initially dial out.
I have the wall mount dial phone in the kitchen and a black dial desk phone upstairs.
The phones are built by Western Electric and are non destructible rental phones that I purchased when they allowed that. You can drop them down the stairs and they don't break, they just bounce.
The analog sound quality is amazing and clear compared to cell phones and digital work phones.
I always took these for granted but I think they're a little unique now.
