can anyone tell me what is that irritating noise, it sounds like its coming from behind the dash board on the drivers side when im hitting the accelerater, even at WOT its even more ridiculous, maybe its a manifold leak or something. its like an constant buzzing.

I'm not sure if the gen 2's have this problem but it might be an EGR tube leak?

Try listening for it under the hood near the windshield wiper motor. Have someone rev the engine just a little bit and listen for an exhaust sounding leak.

I know noises are difficult to diagnose just by describing but I think I have the same as you. Mine is definitely from a crack in the EGR tube. I found it while doing a seafoam type treatment and got smoke from the tube. I also had a slight exhaust-like 'chuff' at the rear of the motor when it was revved as billcu says. Like you, the noise had irritated me when driving. Hope this helps?

Where was your crack located?
