Question about the spare tire cover.

In my mark I have my box sitting in the spare tire depression because I havent relocated the amp. One of my amp's is in the black thing which hangs under the back of the trunk and with it in there I haven't been able to slide my box up into the back of the trunk.
So with this being said and now getting ready to move my box into the back of the trunk I'm wondering if the tire cover is going so support the box. While half the box is going to be positioned on the back of the trunk the front half will be sitting on top of the back of the tire cover. Will the tire cover support it or am I going to need to reinforce it with a piece of wood or something?

Has anyone had a problem with this?

Also one other question. The amp sitting under the trunk doesnt have much room to be menuvered and I'm wondering where to position it. Should I screw it into the back of the sub or the side? I'm thinking if I put it on the back it's position will be adjacent to the other amp almost touching it then the heat will cause the amps to shut down from time to time. Thinking this is a def. thing I'm thinking of putting the amp on the side of the sub but it's not going to look great by doing it.

Anyone have any ideas?

That cover is pretty flimsy. It is held up on the rear by a small tab that will be holding all the weight you put on it. The area on mine that touches the tab is all broken up. You would probably want to cut a piece of wood or reinforce the cover with something. Don't know about your second question. I would just mount it on the amp box, or a piece of wood screwed to the bulkhead behind the rear seat.

yeah, that thing is pretty flimsy. my current POS box is over it now and i have it positioned just right so its not completely on top of the piece. ive done the most damage to it from crawling into the trunk to fix things.
